What is a Guidance Counselor?

Someone you can talk to when you feel confused.

Someone you can talk to when you feel angry.

Someone you can talk to when you feel worried.

Someone you can talk to when you feel proud.

Someone you can talk to when you feel scared.

Someone you can talk to when you feel sad.

Someone you can talk to when you feel lonely.

Someone you can count on no matter what!

A Title I Guidance Counselor is available to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity obtain an education of the highest quality and reach at a minimum proficiency on the state achievement standards and state assessments (PSSA Tests). This school-wide program is designed with the knowledge there is a strong link between student’s home and student’s school. The guidance counselor will strive to engage in regular on-going communication with student’s parents and to encourage the participation of parents in the educational life of their child and their child’s school. They will work collaboratively with the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) to create a positive bond that will strengthen the level of performance and achievement for which all students should strive.
